I’ve realized that in film festivals one has to choose one of two options: going to parties or watching films. I badly wanted see “Manmoth” by Lukas Moodysson, but missed it because of hang over. Good learning experience.
Around noon I got together with Alex and visited the Pergamon Museum as following Hayashi-san’s recommendation. The Greek pantheon moved to Berlin in early 19 century was gigantic. It physically proves the power of the German Union in the colonial era. Then we attended the Q&A session at the Cubix cinema complex. Right before heading to the airport I got a phone call from a German film company. In the car to the Tegel we had a brief meeting on possible world sales deal for DITV. A luck has come at the very last minute!
映画祭はパーティーを楽しむのか、映画を見るのか、二者択一しかないことを身を持って実感。
悪評高いがそれでも見たいと思っていた「Mammoth」(Lukas Moodysson) を二日酔いで見逃す。無念。情けない。今後は節制しようと誓う。Alex と合流しフィルメックス林さんお勧めのＰergamon Museum （ペルガモン博物館）へ。なぜここまで持って来れるの？と驚いてしまう巨大神殿。19世紀前半ドイツ連邦の権力でギリシャから持ってきたそうだ。大英博物館と同じく、植民地時代の欧州列強はやりたい放題だったわけ。15時よりCubix Cinema で最後の上映、質疑応答。テーゲル空港へ向かう直前に、ワールドセールスに興味があるという会社から連絡がある。M-appeal の社長が上映後駆けつけ、空港に向かう車の中でミーティング。小さなインディー映画ばかりを扱うドイツの配給会社だ。うまくいくといいが。テーゲル空港からパリ、シャルル・ド・ゴール経由で帰国した。
